I've never hated the box so much as what I had felt earlier this afternoon. It's switched on for nearly every hour I'm at home, because of all the soap operas and reality shows, which I'm guilty of as well for watching some of it.
I should have hated it since long time ago, but had never mind it so much. Was feeling somewhat edgy this afternoon when I was playing the piano, trying to get some Mozart piece right. And my parents went to switch on that box because of Joey Yap's feng shui show. When they switched it on I had to stop playing coz the piano and the TV is in the living room. And every night when I'm home that box is switched on till 10.30.
Shouldn't be blaming anybody, but can't help it... It's really too "noisy" and taking too much space of my life...

Turtle
"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"
"It is unlikely Lord."
"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."

No Subject in Particular
A lazy afternoon (or day) for me. You know, sometimes you never know something will work unless you try it? Somehow going online once a week is not that bad. I'm still surviving with a few hours of internet each week, compared to an hour or two every other day.

Will I Become A Workaholic?
Somehow I never identify myself with that label. Cause all the while when I was working hard for anything, it's still "a part of my life" and not "my life".
But at the rate I'm working now, the time and effort I'm putting in, it makes me wonder if I have any other life other than my work?
Perhaps should list down what I've been doing lately that led me to this revelation:
1. I work from 7 to 7 almost everyday. My lunch is less than one hour and I hardly take breaks in between. Wow, this surprise even myself, I can actually push myself to work like this!
2. I try very hard not to bring my work home, and try extremely hard not to think about work when I'm out of the office. And it's getting more and more hard to do this.
3. I hardly go online... it's been two weeks that I only go online once or twice a week, during the weekends.
4. I haven't been seeing my friends, uni or camp or secondary sch frens or any oth friends. I've only met a few of my coursemates during CNY and what did we talk about? banking and finance again! 4 out of 5 present that day were in this industry! 3 of us, I mean our companies, even have some "connection" with my bank's new COO. One was the COO's previous co, one was a company she nearly joined before she made the decision to join the bank I'm in.
5. I hardly touch the piano, or any other instruments. I did try to play something yesterday, not much prob though fingers were a bit stiff to aticulate the err... expressions in playing music? See, I've even forgotten what to call all those staccatos and crescendos and diminuendos....
6. I do read a bit though, to make up for the other things I'm not doing.
7. I watch less TV, might be a good thing at least, but it's because I'm too tired at the end of the day to follow up with any drama serials.
I think I seriously need to reorganize my life a bit before I really get "confirmed" as a workaholic...

New browser
I finally downloaded a new browser because my IE simply don't click with friendster - all IE windows close everytime I try to click on something in friendster.
My new browser is Opera, chose this one over Firefox because the installation file is smaller. So far so good, and now I'm clicking away in friendster after half a year not logging in. Need some time to update myself with the features though... trying to search for complete list of blogs of people in my friendster list. Or do I need to click one by one?
Noticed how people had changed from their pictures. Used to love clicking on their contacts to see if I know anyone, back when I was with some small organizations with internet access.
