So I've been worrying about what I'm doing because I was so busy comparing myself to other people, I forgot this simple yet so profound principle. Luckily while I consciously forgot about it, subconsciously I was still abiding by the law.
How could I forgot that this is what I have been believing in since a long time ago, maybe not that long, perhaps 3-4 years back. That was when I started to analyse my own achievement, where some people would so often said due to my "intelligence" I do not need to strive to achieve. Definitely not true! Perhaps I did had a study-smart-method but intelligence was certainly not the BIG factor. I would have attributed whatever achievement I had back in my study days to constant striving for perfection (subject to time and resources) in whatever assignments I did, whether it's a big or a small one. Do not ever copy, if you can. It's by doing all the seemingly taxing, small and unimportant tasks that build up your A.S.K. (attitude/skills/knowledge).
You want to reach the highest rung of the ladder, you have to start from the bottom. How can you simply fly up? You could probably learn some supernatural power or you might have the supernatural ability, yet you're like standing on the top rung with no foundation at the bottom. Anytime you might fall and you won't know how to build up the thing again.
Now, I must constantly remind myself about this... look for values in the things I do no matter how unsignificant it might look on the surface. Then I'll learn... continuous improvement! Of course some things are really redundant in nature... In that case, hopefully the hard work will work in some wisdom in me to notice the redundancy and do something to eliminate it. Need to be proactive as well, take responsibility and act on it. Use your best judgement in every situation.
Hmm.. been to this training on quality which has such a great motivating effect on me. Good trainer, good trainee-mates, fun environment. What I learned the most is what am I doing in the organization, how am I adding value and am I doing it? Trainer said don't be too ambitious to list down big things you want to accomplish after the training but not able to accomplish it! I guess my action plan to define my added value to the organization would be good enough for the moment... :)

Turtle
"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"
"It is unlikely Lord."
"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."
