Been reading quite a bit lately, since I'm practically on "honeymoon" for the past 2 months, I mean work honeymoon.
Just finished reading P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern. Simple book, really, revolves around Holly and her small world... how she picks herself up in the 10 months following Gerry's death. Again, life goes on, and we constantly need to challenge ourselves to do things whether we like it or not, and probably find we can cope with it after all, with support from family and friends. And love lives on... long after death... the story illustrates this fact very well... Find that I quite like Holly's character... strong, but can break down sometimes, funny, brave, witty...
I've also finished Stardust by Neil Gaiman somewhere last month, and still reading Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. Stardust reminds me a bit of the fairytales I used to read in Primary and Secondary school, even Enid Blyton's books. Blink is interesting too - how we make that snap judegement, and how our minds work in perceiving the world around us. But since Blink is not "fiction", it's taking me a much longer time to finish it.

Turtle
"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"
"It is unlikely Lord."
"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."
