Turtle

"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"

"It is unlikely Lord."

"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."

To Blog or Not to Blog?

My very first post, which I guessed my enthusiasm to blog is kind of dampened by the fact that I waited almost one hour to create this blog and to wait for this page to load before I start posting. Well, perhaps I should really get streamyx, I've been telling that to lots of people but somehow never get myself to do it. I probably won't do so at the moment. Too many things swimming in my head, officially jobless now, happy and yet feeling so lost...

I used to love to write, long letters, then long emails and perhaps long online chats, and then I do not know what happened, no more broadcasting my feelings/thoughts/views but kept them to myselves. Perhaps now I have NBTD (a phrase I learned recently, oh dear, everyone knew what it stands for except this poor girl who asked "What is NBTD" so openly to everyone in the email reply list!

I have been thinking to blog for some time, so actually got quite a lot to write, but since it's already 1am and my tired organs doesn't help much, not forgetting daddy will soon be knocking on the door and saying why am I so disobedient as not to listen to him to sleep earlier, kidney repair function works from 11pm to 1am, etc...

Yesterday (22nd April 2005) another white lotus bloomed in my house's small backyard garden. One of my favourite sights, I even took a picture of it with a bee, I mean I took a picture of a blooming lotus last year, somewhere in August of September. If I have a digital camera, I would take picture of every lotus that blooms!

That's all for the opening post, kinda messy as I am drifting into dreamworld already. ahhh... my favourite activity, it always feel so good to just sleep and put everything aside...
