Turtle

"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"

"It is unlikely Lord."

"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."

My Malaysian English

Ever since someone pointed out I tend to use "lah" a lot, I began to notice the way I speak.. It's true, my English is so Malaysianised!

I'm also noticing how people communicate, sometimes some people just keep on beating around the bush without getting to the main point. Others have already pointed out the MAIN POINT, yet there are some who would just like to "be heard", and went to elaborate on the main point, and talking as if was contributing to the discussion when it actually made the whole thing worse - from clear-cut to confusion...

I have A LOT to learn in terms of communication - verbal and written. No one's perfect, and because of the fact no one's perfect, I'm learning from others, and I hope I can forgive others and myself. Will start to improve by being more observant... be a student every moment and learn from my surroundings...

I do hope I'll be a better person. I'm certainly not one right now, but I do aspire to be a better person to myself and others... not only for my own sake only, but for the people around me... hope to spare them the frustration because of what I do. So IF I made mistakes, do point it out like in the example I gave in the beginning of this entry. Please help me LAH!
