Turtle

"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"

"It is unlikely Lord."

"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."

1.5 months

I'm 1.5 months old in the banking industry and I find that I am comparing things to the banking products. I realise I used the word "incentive" some time ago to quote something on "is it enough incentive/motivation to prompt people to do something?" then today when NS mentioned "membership" my mind went to credit card and the tie-ups with partners/different channels for discounts...

1.5 months without internet access, without computer games at work, and haven't been talking that much at work... so you can imagine what I actually did at work the first few weeks... read and read and read as I browsed the public folder, and read newspaper just to write a one page summary on our Malaysian economy and banking industry for the month.

Now not so much time to read already, I have been so free I kept asking my manager now and then for something to do, so now I got my share of things to follow up... Anyway, I know how much I know when I know how to explain what is collateral, guarantor, unsecured, daily rest, monthly rest, etc to my new colleague... Not bad for a newbie like me... hehe... sometimes need to praise myself a bit!

I wish that were the case... as at the moment, you're going to get an inexperienced and unqualified personal financial consultant!
