Turtle

"Imagine that the whole earth was covered with water, and a man was to throw a yoke with a hole in it into the water. Blown by the wind, that yoke would drift north, south, east and west. Now, suppose that once in hundred years a blind turtle would rise to the surface. What do you think? Would that turtle put his head through the hole in the yoke as he rose to the surface once in a hundred years?"

"It is unlikely Lord."

"Well, it is just as unlikely that one will be born as a human being; it is just unlikely that a Tathagata, a Noble One, a fully enlightened Buddha should arise in the world; and it is just as unlikely that the Dhamma and discipline of the Tathagata should be taught. But now you have been born as a human being, a Tathagata has arisen and the Dhamma has been taught. Therefore, strive to realize the Four Noble Truths."

发好愿 说好话

发好愿 说好话
发愿要发好愿，说话要说好话。
话多不如话少，话少不如话好！
原谅人是美德，原谅自己是损德。
尊重他人缩小自我，不发脾气声色柔和。
说好话，利人又利己。说坏话，害人又害己。
说错了话伤到别人，又会拦住自己的路哟。
说好话，如口吐莲花。说坏话，如口吐毒蛇。
得理饶人理直气和。欢欢喜喜快快乐乐。

Make Good Wishes, Speak Good Words
When wishing, make good wishes. When speaking, speak good words.
Less words are better than more words; but even better than less words are good words.
Forgiving others is a virtue, however forgiving oneself is a loss (to oneself).
Respect others and reduce the importance of oneself, do not get angry and maintain gentle speech.
Good words will benefit oneself and others, bad words will harm oneself and others.
Wrong words will hurt other people, and block one’s own way.
Good words is like a lotus born from the mouth, bad words is like a poisonous snake expelled from the mouth.
Acquire the truth, be tolerant, be reasonable, and be peaceful. And you will lead a happy life.
